Protecting the climate while you sleep - Rogner Bad Blumau teams up with the WWFEver since it started, Rogner Bad Blumau has followed the philosophy of Friedensreich Hundertwasser: "A life in harmony with nature." This of course has to include green energy from our very own geothermal system. Even at outdoor temperatures of minus 20 degrees, the system ensures that the whole complex stays pleasantly warm and at the same time cuts down atmospheric emissions by 4 million kilograms of C02 every year.
Within the framework of holistic climate protection, Rogner Bad Blumau has also been supporting an international WWF project for saving the Amazon Rainforest from climate change ever since 9th May 2008. The aim is to protect 50,000 hectares within the period of a year.
For each night booked at Rogner Bad Blumau from 2008 until 2009, € 0.60 went to the nature conservation organisation. With one stay, you could protect an area of Amazon Rainforest of at least the size of a football field for a whole year. Since 2010 guest can decide to support the WWF project with the initiative "Reinigungsverzicht" (waiver to wash) by reusing their towels. The saving for each towel, € 0,12 per towel, goes straight to the WWF project.
In this way, together with Rogner Bad Blumau, you can support the WWF in building and in lastingly safeguarding a 500,000 square kilometre network of protected areas in the rainforests of Brazil. In other words, protecting the climate while you sleep!
